In a surprising meteorological turnaround, the band enjoyed fine and sunny, if somewhat chilly weather for its first appearance of 2019 at the Leeds Castle Christmas Market. The good weather meant that even more people than ever were taking advantage of the opportunity to visit for their Christmas shopping and, in the process, to hear the band producing three sets of high quality brass band music making which featured pieces from a wide range of genres as well as Christmas pieces. The audience comments at the end of each set showed just how much they appreciated the band’s playing.

The band’s last engagement of 2019 was it’s second appearance of the season at Leeds Castle’s Christmas Market. There could not have been a sharper contrast with it’s appearance a fortnight earlier as at the beginning of the band’s first set, the heavens opened several times and the wind was gusting up to 40mph! Despite all of this however, the bad was able to produce a quality performance that was appreciated by the large crowd who were there – something which continued during the somewhat calmer second and third sets.
